We certainly aren't Ponsonby regulars by any rate, but I can see us venturing back every once in a while to this place. I find the layout of Toru to be rather refreshing; a naturally lit open space with a mix of rustic and modern decor. There were a few brow raisers scattered throughout the menu - like the soft-shell crab sandwich - far too adventurous for my taste but I can definitely vouch for the French toast with pineapple curd, lime and coconut. And don't even get me started on the smoothies.
