My bf and I decided to try something a little different from our usual streetstyle pictures so we scouted out this rugged little corner in the middle of the suburbs for a more editorial feel backdrop. It was a lot of fun being at a deserted location, potentially lethal to navigate around in heels at times, but gave us a lot more freedom in terms of having no nosy passerbys gawking at us constantly. Something we'll definitely try again.

Finally ended my affair with pastel block colour nail polishes, it's the darker shimmery hues that appeal to me more now. This rich OPI royal purple shade with a holographic glittery base fits the bill perfectly. It exudes mystery and glamour all at once.

A workwear themed outfit inspired by these Victoria Beckham-esque trousers I found on ASOS a little while ago. I've always admired VB's style since she shook off her old 'Posh spice' days. I am forever floored at how she manages to always presents herself looking so polished, classy, and glamorous, yet oh-so-effortless at the same time. And do I even need to mention how incredible her dVb line of dresses is? Would kill to own one of her designs someday. She is definitely one of my style icons.

My outfits have been quite formulaic recently. Hot muggy days give only two options - skimpy basics or sheer flowy dresses if you want to be more covered up. I've exhausted the first combo so I'm moving onto maxi dresses now. Big thanks to Schwing Schwing for sending me this grecian styled one in such a refreshing minty shade.
It might sound weird but I do envy the rest of the world who are currently having chilly winter days which allow for heavy layering up. So much more interesting that way.

It has come to my attention that someone has set up a fake store copying the contents of my Shop FD on the Multiply host network. It's bad enough that I've had imposters on things like Lookbook.nu before but this one really concerns me because it seems like they are intending to rip people off selling items they obviously don't have, and under my name too.
I just wanted to clarify on here that the only real fashion community/social networking sites that I'm on are the ones linked off this blog and that my shop is located at http://shopfashiondistraction.blogspot.com and nowhere else. Anything else is a fake.
If anyone else knows of any other imposters out there, please let me know and I'll try my best to get rid of them. I've already reported the fake store so hopefully that will be gone soon. It's so sad how some people just have nothing better to do with their lives.
UPDATE: The fake store has now been removed!

These Jessica Simpson Danys are in my top three favourite shoes of all time. I had a mission locating them at a store that was willing to ship to New Zealand, and I was lucky to get a pair in black but I really wanted them in another colour except they weren't available there. When I saw the ones on the Jessica Simpson website all go on sale I was so gutted because I knew they didn't ship outside of the US! But I was super stoked when one of my readers, Jennifer, was kind enough to help me forward over a pair. She is so amazingly sweet to go to all the trouble and I will be forever grateful to her! I chose the pewter ones this time because I wanted something dressier, and believe it or not, these are actually the only metallic shoes I own.
Not much of an outfit post but I did a little poll at the end of last year asking what you would all like to see more of on the blog, and the outright favourite was the 'personal life' option, so from now on I'm going to try and include more random posts about my daily life on here. You have been warned though, it's pretty mundane hahah
These were from an impromptu picnic down at our local waterfront. We avoided the crowded main beach and went to one of the quieter bays instead. Much more tranquil and less sand to get everywhere, thankfully.
